Blindness - José Saramago, Giovanni Pontiero Quite an interesting premise which allowed for the exploration of humanity and what being human is. I liked the ideas and themes in the novel, but I just can't like it as a book because I found Saramago's long-winded writing style far too tedious and exhausting to read. It did make sense in terms of the story, since the lack of proper nouns and meager descriptions essentially makes the reader feel blind going into the book, as well as frustrated, which I guess, parallels the frustration of the blind characters.
