The Sugar Queen - Sarah Addison Allen I read this one because I just finished Dangerous Angels by Francesca Lia Block, and saw a review that compared FLB to Sarah Addison Allen. I like FLB's works so I thought I'd check out Allen's writing.

The Sugar Queen was a light and fluffy read, not bad but not all that great either. The plot was fairly predictable from the beginning, which meant that it was difficult to stay interested in the book, and everything was wrapped up far too neatly at the end. I could somewhat identify with Josey but I also thought she was the weakest character in the story, despite being the main character. Ultimately, it was a pretty forgettable book, and I don't think I'll be reading anymore of Allen's work.
